The weekend was filled with art, and even so, I’m dipping back a bit in my little sketchbook for day 11’s make piece.
(You’ll have to take my word for it, but yes, I did doodle a bit on 10/11, I just didn’t like it as much as this piece…artist’s prerogative to be precious and change the rules…tbbbbth…)
Now that I’m in the habit of it, I feel naked unless I’m carrying a little sketchbook and a stack of pens. Mostly I doodle while waiting or doing other things (yes, I really do listen better with a pen in my hand…), but sometimes I get the luxury of sitting still long enough to get a sketch in. Most times, it just becomes a mashup of stream of consciousness stuff. Lately there’s been a lot of this obsessive tiny crosshatched boxes. (Not sure what that’s about, but I’m sure it’s rich fodder for a clinical diagnosis or three.)
One of my favorite things about the random assortment of drawings is that these little books capture tiny granular details in my life as things fly past.
