Well, I’m off to a bit of a slow start. Got some nice outdoor sketching in, which is one of my goals during this challenge–to sit outside and really see the urban landscapes that I inhabit.
This one was from a morning sketch over coffee and conversation in Dimond Park. I walked to coffee and then to the park, which I never do. I found myself impatient on both the walk there and the walk back, but was able to notice it and to stop and enjoy the day a bit. The park was busy with a cross-section of Oakland residents, and the squirrels were amazing with their kung-fu leaps from tree to tree.
Maybe my sparring aumakua is a squirrel (working on finding an animal less comical than the Mola Mola, which is what I choose at my last belt test).
